Retirement Board

The Sassy Ass is also a private horse retirement farm located in Loudoun County in the heart of Virginia's Horse Country.  Our owner has over 30 years of experience and has hosted boarders for the majority of them!  

Give your horse the retirement care they deserve with our Full-Care Retirement Field Board. We offer a safe, comfortable, and caring environment tailored to your horse’s needs. Note this is not a toss your horse into a field for retirement. They will have hands on them every single day.

Field Board Includes:

• Twice daily grain feedings (Additional feedings available)
• Square bale hay provided (Alternative forage sources provide if teeth are bad!)
• Spacious fields with run-ins for shelter & fans in the summer
• Feeding of owner-provided medications and supplements
• Schedule & hold for Veterinarian, Farrier, and Dentist Visits 
• Small herds in each field with special attention to social needs
• Expert senior horse care with special accommodations, including care for blind horses
• Blanket, fly spray, and fly mask application as needed
• Grooming & Bathing as needed
• Deworming
• Owner lives and works onsite for dedicated daily care
